This years Rally Isle of Man will be the second time that innovative Roving Webcams have been used to broadcast live images from the event to the world on the rally website.
Coupled with various rally staff reporters at the end of stages and in service, this means the event will once again benefit from one of the best internet news serives in the motorsport world.
Orignally developed as a prototype in 2009, the Roving Webcams allow images to be beamed from anywhere on the island directly to the website, to keep spectators up to date with events whether they choose to access the website from the stages, or are unable to attend and using the website for the latest news.
Their inventor and director of YNIL Ltd, Neil Burgess said "I came up with the idea last year and was really pleased with the reaction they got. This year I've improved the system, we now support multiple cameras and provide a map showing where each camera is located. So far as I'm aware, this is a unique service that we can now offer, not only on the island but on any type of event almost anywhere in the world."
Last year's webcam broadcast live pictures of the now famous rapid service park repairs carried out on Mark Higgins' car which went on to win the event.
